JoshuaDAVID: stepping into spring
The spring collections are starting to trickle into the shop, designers such as Ruffian, BOSS Black and Badgley Mischka are already here and plenty of others are on the way. To highlight some of the gorgeous fashions coming for Spring we have relaunched JoshuaDAVID.ca to feature this illustration on our homepage! The illustration features a few of our personal favorite looks for the season from Smythe, Ruffian, Ted Baker London, BOSS Black, Gomez-Gracia, MMK and Magaschoni.

We caught up with the talented Eric Carriere this week, the artist behind this illustration, to get a few of our questions answered:
JD:
Where do your ideas or inspiration come from?
EC: My inspirations come from a vast selection of media. Whether it be Vogue, online blogs, movies, or TV series, I always make a note as to what is being used to dress the characters. Looking through Illustration and graphic design books always seem to spark an idea for me to jot down in my notebook.
JD: How did you discover your talent and passion for illustration and the fashion industry?
EC: My family always surrounded me with creativity. They always encouraged me to sketch and paint and to look for the finer detail that is at hand. The fashion industry has been something that I have loved for such a long time. I remember watching FTV on sunday nights and looking at all those beautiful models, clothing, and accessories and hoping that one day I could be a part of that world.
JD: What Spring/Summer trends are you most excited about and why?
EC: I’m excited for the trench to make it’s come back. Looking at Burberry’s Spring/ Summer 2010 clothing line is desperately making me want the new season to arrive. Having one in your wardrobe allows you to be dry on those wet days, yet classic and chic at the same time. I am also looking forward to the military look taking another turn. Green is my favorite color and therefore having an excuse to wear is more often is always a plus.
