Born in 2002, Alice + Olivia was formed out of designer Stacey Bendet’s personal desire to create the perfect pair of pants! Her signature style was met with great success, and “Stacey Pants” quickly became the benchmark for denim designers. The brand has continued to expand its collection launching a cashmere collection shortly after and the full contemporary collection in 2005, turning Alice + Olivia into the quintessential brand for trend setting, luxury fashion. We thought the strength this season was dresses, and Alice + Olivia offered us everything we wanted from sequins, to feathers and leather embellishments. Autumn Winter 2010 Collection is a tribute to genuine, long-lasting relationships. It urges people to embrace what is important to them in life, and to revel in the joy awoken by friends, family, work, art and music.

For Ms. Birger the collection is a revival of a period that felt genuine – a fond recollection of the late ’70′s and early 80′s when the bohemian style was replaced by sophisticated sensuality, this transformation is expressed as a new defiant luxury redefining basic styles in startling ways. This Autumn the track suit could be the new suit. The knit wear could be the new coat, and the shirt the new t-shirt.

The mood is authentic and full of contrasts: the cozy comfort of home opposite the harsh winter landscape, the strong mix of leather, fur, tweed and knit recalling memories from lost times.
